John “Jack” V. Jones, Jr., predeceased by his wife, Helen M. Jones, passed away on July 16, 2025. Survived by his second wife, Sandi Unell Jones, his brother Les (Joanne) Jones, his son, Stephen (Laurie) Jones of Fairport, his daughters Karen (Greg) Bachison of Addison, Cheryl (Richard) Ervine of Katy, TX, and his grandchildren, Katie DiProspero, Jennifer Jones, Melissa Klehr, Sarah Almond and Kevin Luster, as well as numerous family members and friends.
After graduating from Madison High School, Jack found his calling in commercial roofing and sheet metal. He eventually purchased W. J. Grinder Roofing Company, which he successfully ran until 1997.
Jack had a passion for golf, archery, international travel, and Sunday drives. He learned carpentry from his father and built a second home in Nunda, NY. His travels took him to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, with Aruba being a favorite destination. An avid archer, Jack was a member of the Avon Archery Club and shared his skills with the local Boy Scouts. He enjoyed Sunday drives in his sports cars and was an active member of Locust Hill Country Club, where he participated in events and volunteered at the LPGA.
At the age of 70, Jack obtained his motorcycle license, purchased a Honda Trike, and joined the local Honda Motorcycle Club. He loved traveling on his trike in the northeast U.S.
Friends are welcome to attend calling hours Wednesday, July 23, at the Jarmusz Cotton Funeral Home, (26 Maple Avenue, Victor NY) from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Serenity House, 1278 Brace Road, Victor, NY, 14564.
