Wendy Elaine (Kraft) Simpson, 75, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Saturday, October 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 19, 1949 in Rochester, New York, to Jean Tuthill Davey.
Wendy devoted her life to her family and to her Christian faith. A loving homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her children and creating a home rooted in kindness, warmth, and faith. She was a student of the Bible, finding daily strength and purpose in its teachings, and she shared that wisdom generously with those around her. Her compassion, patience, and spiritual devotion left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Wendy is survived by her husband of 41 years, David “Scot” Simpson; her children, Jeanne Woodcock, Blonnie Brooks, Gavin Simpson, Gordon Simpson, and Kenneth Simpson; and her beloved grandchildren, Jackson Markman, Kaden Markman, Logan Markman, Sheridon Brooks and Ethan Simpson. She is survived by her siblings Karen (Kraft) Anderson, Gerald Kraft, Steven Kraft, Todd Kraft, her nieces and nephews Tracy Mehan, Heather Starck, Steve Starck, Thomas Kraft, and Joshua Kraft as well as many loved ones and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Tuthill Davey and Mitchell Kraft.
Wendy will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, infectious laugh, and deep empathy. She lived her life guided by love and faith. Her children will remember her as a steady source of comfort and strength — a woman whose love never wavered. Because of her, we’ve learned much about grace, resilience and the quiet persistence of love.
Throughout her life, Wendy found peace and direction in the Word of God. She took great pride in her study and teaching of God’s Word, faithfully sharing her understanding with others through her involvement with The Way International since 1981.
A passage that beautifully reflects her spirit is from Proverbs 31:25–28:
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Jarmusz-Cotton Funeral Home, 26 Maple Avenue, Victor, NY.
