Judith Ann Jacobson Ratcliffe passed away on April 28, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on September 11, 1946, in Cuyahoga, Ohio.
Judy grew up in the Pittsburgh area, where she attended Vincentian and North Hills High School. She later attended Bucknell University, earning a degree in mathematics and forming lifelong friendships that remained an important part of her life.
Judy spent many years as a beloved resident of Corning, New York, where she built lasting friendships and a life filled with meaningful connections. In her later years, she resided at Ferris Hills at West Lake in Canandaigua, New York, where she continued to enjoy the company of others and the comforts of community.
Judy had a dedicated career in information technology with Corning Incorporated and later World Kitchen, where she was respected for her professionalism, problem-solving skills, and commitment to her work. After her first retirement, her drive and energy led her to a second career at The Market Street Trust Company.
Judy was married to Ronald Ratcliffe, with whom she shared many years of companionship. She was predeceased by her husband, and her parents, Kathryn V. and John (Jake) Jacobson. She is survived by her niece, Lynne Kiesling of Illinois.
Judy had a deep love of travel and embraced opportunities to explore new places and experiences throughout her life. In 2024 she took an around the world cruise visiting 40 countries across 6 continents. She also found joy in gardening, taking pride in creating and tending to beautiful outdoor spaces. She remained especially close to a group of friends from her Bucknell years; through biweekly phone calls, shared travels, and decades of friendship, their bond stood the test of time.
In Canandaigua, Judy was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Lakeland Rovers Outing Club, Light Hill Hospice Home, the New Yorker Group at Wood Library, and the Rotary Club, where she found purpose, friendship, and connection in her community.
Judy will be remembered for her enduring friendships, adventurous spirit, intellectual curiosity, and the many lives she touched along the way.
Judy will be laid to rest alongside her husband Ron at Lakeview Natural Cemetery in Canandaigua.
