ROBERT A HOUSEKNECHT AGE 95 HAS PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON 10/24/2023 AT HIS HOME IN MARION NY. HE LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE IN NAUGATUCK CT. HE IS THE SON OF THE LATE CHARLES R. HOUSEKNECHT AND EDITH M HOUSEKNECHT (BEACH) AND HIS SISTER FLORENCE A HOUSEKNECHT. ROBERT IS THE LOVING HUSBAND OF THE LATE ROSE MAY HOUSEKNECHT (WEISS)
HE SERVED IN THE US ARMY DURING WORLD WAR II. HE RETIRED FROM UNIROYAL FOOTWEAR IN NAUGATUCK CT. WITH 36YEARS OF SERVICE.
HE LEAVES HIS TWO DAUGHTERS CLARA HOUSEKNECHT AND DIANA CARNEIRO AND HIS FOUR SONS RICHARD, ROGER,DOUGLAS AND DAVID HOUSEKNECHT. HE HAS 16 GRAND CHILDREN AND 13 GREAT GRAND CHILDREN.
HE ENJOYED FISHING. HE FULFILD HIS DREAM OF FISHING IN ALASKA FOR SALMON.
ROBERT AND HIS FAMILY WANTED TO THANK THE NURSES AND THE CARETAKERS LINDA AND TEDDY LOMBARDI FOR THEIR COMPASSIONATE CARE SHOWN TO HIM.
THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS
AND BURIAL WILL BE PRIVATE.
THE FATHER I LOVE
WHEN I WAS SMALL, JUST A LITTLE SPROUT.
MY FATHER TOOK ME AND BROUGHT ME ALL ABOUT, FROM RIVER TO RIVER WITH POLE IN HAND. HE TAUGHT ME TO FISH FROM THE WATER OR ON THE LAND. USEING SHINERS TO CATCH BIGER TROUT. HE HAD PATIENT FOR THIS LITTLE SPROUT. HE WOULD CATCH EVERY TREE OR LITTLE BUSH BUT ONCE IN A WHILE HE EVEN CAUGHT A FISH. SO WITH PATIENCE AND LOVE THIS SPROUT GREW UP AND NOW HE CAN’T WAIT TO BE BACK WITH HIS FATHER AND BACK TO GOING ALL ABOUT.
