Frederick Earl Gary passed away at his home on January 21, 2026, at the age of 81 with family by his side after a long battle with cancer.

He was predeceased by his parents Frederick H and Donelda Gary, his son Frederick E. Gary Jr, son-in-law Kenneth Stone, and sister-in-law Kathy Gary.

Frederick is survived by his wife Nancy (McGregor) Gary, having just celebrated their 63rd anniversary in December, his daughter Tina Stone of Palmyra and son Daniel Gary of Farmington.  He is also survived by his brother James Gary of Farmington and his sisters, Charlene Korndoerfer of Lakeville, NY and Juanita (Eric) Ingraham of Huntersville, NC, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Fred was born September 19, 1944, at Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, NY and graduated from Parishville Central School, as a member of the class of 1962.

He had a passion for photography having attended several classes at Monroe Community College.  You could usually see him around the area photographing nature, traveling to horse shows and dabbling into a few weddings and senior pictures.

Fred had 4 grandchildren, Bradley Stone of Clifton Springs, Brandon Stone of Palmyra, Travis Gary of Rochester, NY and Taylor Gary of Wayland, NY.

He was blessed with 7 great grandchildren, Mya, Noah and Zaydyn Stone, and Blakely, Kadence, Maddox, and Kingston Schafer.

Fred worked at Mixing Equipment (Lightnin) in Rochester, NY, retiring after 43 years of service,  He then went on join the team at Kohl’s in Victor, retiring from his second chapter after 14 years.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 31st at 1:00pm at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church (3360 Middle Cheshire Rd, Canandaigua, NY).  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to:  Serenity House of Victor (1278 Brace Rd, Victor, NY 14564)   serenity-house.org  or Ontario Yates Hospice (756 PreEmption Rd, Geneva, NY 14456)  in his memory.
