Monica Jane Barry-Hamann, 88, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025, at FF Thompson Hospital. A native and lifelong residence of Victor, Monica was born June 24, 1937, to the late Vincent and Nancy Barry. She was one of twelve brothers and sisters. Monica dedicated her life to her community as a nurse for over 50 years. She was very accomplished in her profession and even went on later in her life to earn her master’s degree in nursing and she was always educating herself in the latest medical advancements. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Monica is reunited in Heaven with her parents; grandson, Ben Hamann; 10 siblings.
Her memory is cherished by her four sons, George “Tige / Tigger” Hamann (Marie), Peter Hamann (Kristi), Scott Hamann (Kristen) and Todd Hamann, grandchildren; Stephen Dunn (Katie), Chris Dunn (Jen), Kellyn Bougher (Rob), Alex Hamann (Allison), Nick Hamann (Rachel), Katie Hamann, Nolan Hamann, Carson Hamann; former daughter-in-law, Cynthia Hamann Wrisley; granddaughter-in-law, Grace Hamann; five great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Barry; and several nieces and nephews, many other loving relatives, and dear friends.
Monica’s sons would especially like to thank all the aids with whom we could have never given her the quality of life she had: Jacki, Jamie, CC, Cathy, Julie, Patty, Rachel and Patti.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 2nd, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. The family will receive friends 3 – 6 p.m. Thursday, January 1st at Jarmusz Cotton Funeral Home. Weather permitting, the burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Cemetery following her mass.

It’s been 50+ years since I’ve seen Monica but my memories are still very clear in my mind of you and George and the tons of laughs shared at the Sacco’s. My parents, the Curcios, and my brother and I loved your tremendous sense of humor. Rest easy good lady!
