Kenneth (Ken) Allen (1949-2025) passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 5th at his home in Farmington, NY. He was 76. Born in Endwell, NY to Ralph and Sylvia (Beller) Allen, Ken graduated from Maine-Endwell High School in 1967. He went on to attend Broome Technical Community College, earning an AA in Liberal Arts; and SUNY Oneonta, graduating in 1971 with a BA in German Language and Literature. In 1972, he joined the United States Navy and served internationally until 1977 when he returned to the Binghamton area and worked at Atlantic Design. In 1981, Ken began a role as a service technician at Tektronix where he worked for over 22 years then worked on the Help Desk at Unity Hospital, at Rochester MicroSystems, Inc, and several other places before retiring from Rochester Regional Hospital.

Ken’s long record of community service includes serving as the former President of Habitat for Humanity, Ontario County (NY), and as Church Representative to the Presbytery of Geneva. He was also a long serving member of United Church of Canandaigua’s Mission Committee, visiting Mexico with the group 15 times over two decades as a representative for “Living Waters for the World,” where he worked with other members of his community to help bring sustainable water filtration systems to communities in rural Mexico. Ken’s service to the United Church also included terms as a trustee and board member and he supported the church’s leadership activities in creating business cards for the pastor and church stewards and helped fold the congregational newsletter, The Lamplighter.

Ken is survived by his wife, Regina (Mason) Allen; two daughters, Ilse Allen and Jessiy Dickinson; his stepdaughter and stepson, Heather (Cox) and Monty MacGeorge; his stepson and stepdaughter, Charlie and Trish Cox; his grandchildren, Troy, Eric, Tyler, Rachel, Dale, Colby, Noah, and Isabelle; his great-grandchildren, Alice and Finnick; his stepsister Lucie Titus; his brother-in-law, Brian Mandigo; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Sue Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Sylvia Allen; his sister, Barbara Mandigo; and his stepmother Nita Allen.

A Memorial Service for Ken will be held Saturday August 9th  10 a.m. at United Church of Canandaigua (11 Gibson Street Canandaigua, NY). Interment will be private.
