On Saturday November 7th, 2020 Eugene Carl Jelensperger moved from this world to the next.
Beloved husband of Dorine (née Dewolf) for over 65 years. Cherished Father and Funny man to Lynne Herman and her husband Bob (deceased)Steven Jelensperger and his wife Amy, and Claire Sheppard and her husband James. Papa J to Tom Sheppard (Kayleigh), Carrie Cohen (Andrew), Leonora Herman, and Sonja Herman. Dear Papa to Great grandchildren Isabel, Michael, Ella, and Rowan. Gene always enjoyed looking out for the “least” in God’s kingdom and tried to be a friend to the friendless. It showed in his work with Cameron Community Ministries, the Early Learning Center at P.P.C. and generations of church school kids at P.P.C. A “live streamed” memorial service will be broadcast from Penfield Presbyterian.
Gene’s Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday December 12th at 11 a.m. at Penfield Presbyterian Church (1881 Jackson Rd Penfield, NY). Due to COVID, seating is limited and masks are required. Please contact the church to reserve a seat (585)-377-1620. I ‘m so sorry to hear of Gene’s passing …. He hired me back in 1971 at AT&T. So long ago. I will never forget his guidance and his ability to navigate the many changes in technology we encountered. I know he’s at peace as the Lord has promised. My condolences to his family as I know you will miss him very much.
