Larry R. Hathaway, 74, of Victor, NY, passed away on January 23rd, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his 3 children: Paul (Sheila) Hathaway, Pamela Hathaway, Tricia (John) MacAdam, grandchildren Ian, Colleen and Molly MacAdam, and several nieces and nephews.

Although being born in New Jersey, Larry considered Webster to be his hometown. His class was first to graduate from RL Thomas High School in 1963. He received a BS degree from RIT. Work and travel took him to numerous places. Through the years, to many, he became known as “Captain Larry”.

Larry loved God, Jesus, family and friends, food and fun and especially you.

A memorial service will be held at the Victor United Methodist Church, 106 E. Main St., at noon on February 15, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society in Larry’s memory.

  1. I was SO excited talking to Larry at the reunion before last.
He indeed loved Jesus, as I do.
Although I did not make last reunion, I will see Larry again.
Save a seat for me, Brother!
    Much love

  2. I am so very sorry! Larry was such a good-hearted man. He loved my dad, his track coach, and they were in close contact for many years. He spoke at my dad’s funeral and that meant so much to our family! He will be missed, but I know that he is in God’s hands now.

  3. I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. But, I did make it to the church services. Larry was so full of God’s Love. I would always look in the back pew and there was my good friend “Captain Larry”. Larry will be missed by the entire community including the congreation of Victor Methodist Church. My favorite Verse from 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV –

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise.

    Rest in peace,
