Diane Virginia Louden (nee Baker) was born March 1, 1952, and passed in the early hours of May 27, 2026. Predeceased by brother Larry Baker and sister Sue Brown, she is survived by the love of her life and husband of over 30 years, James Louden, sisters Andrea (Jim) Rohr and Judy (Bill) Nelson, children Jeff (Lucinda) and Jill Bozarth, stepsons Brenden and Seth Louden, and grandchildren Ava, Mikey, and Sam.
Raised in Fairport, Diane spoke often of her childhood spent with close friends and her young adulthood working at the Sibley’s department store. She married and started a family, choosing to focus on motherhood when her children were young, and found her calling working as a caretaker for the elderly and infirm, which she did in some capacity until her retirement (and part time for several years after). Diane’s superpower was her ability to empathize and connect with people, and she formed dozens of lasting relationships right up until the end of her life as she effortlessly charmed her doctors and nurses in the hospital.
A lover of life, Diane enjoyed restaurants and good food (with a nice margarita, rocks not blended, thank you). She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family in the area, long trips to visit her sister in Arizona and her children in the Midwest, and long, lazy days with her husband and their dog, Jax, at their camper, which they traveled all over the area until settling down to an annual campsite near Potter.
Diane believed in living life to the fullest and showed care and support to everyone around her. She was a wonderful listener, quick to share her contagious laugh, and known for a sense of humor that was truly legendary. She loved classic movies, both old and new, as well as flip-flops and crafts, and she had a special talent for finding delightfully irreverent, preferably swear-filled gifts that always brought a smile to friends and family.
The world is poorer for her passing, but the way Diane touched the lives of all around her will be felt for many, many years to come. She will be honored with a memorial for friends and family later this summer.
I will miss my friend. I have wonderful memories of laughter and fun shared during our high school years. Wish we had reconnect sooner but will treasure the time we did share.
