John R. Boucher was born on September 8, 1944 in Lowville, NY. He died at the age of 80 at Thompson Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 5, 2025 surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Boucher; his mother, Bertha Boucher; and his father, Victor Boucher. His survivors include his wife of 29 years, June Boucher of Farmington, NY; son, Thomas Boucher of Portland, OR; stepson Mark Vogler of Grosetown, GA; stepson Timothy Vogler of Woodbourne, NY; stepdaughter, Kathlene Denman of Kerhonkson, NY; stepdaughter, Christie Vogler of Binghamton, NY; stepson, Jason Vogler of Parksville, NY; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, as well as his sister, Linda DeWitt of New Windsor, NY; niece, Doreen Ritzel of New Paltz, NY; and nephew, Christopher DeWitt of Wallkill, NY.
John attended Lowville Academy and Central School, and later graduated from Canton ATI with an Associate degree in Heating and Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair. He went to work for the University of Rochester maintaining their heating and air conditioning systems, but dedicated the majority of his career to General Motors in Henrietta, NY. John was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Victor, NY. He enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and striking up a conversation with anyone he met. He is known for his keen sense of humor and kindness towards others. He is loved and will be greatly missed by family, neighbors and friends.
Calling hours are being held at the Jarmusz Cotton Funeral Home at 26 Maple Avenue in Victor, NY on Sunday, May 11, 2025 between 6pm and 8pm. The funeral will take place on Monday, May 12 at 10am at St. Patrick’s Church at 115 Maple Avenue in Victor, NY followed by a procession to a graveside service at Newark Cemetery on N Main Street in Newark, NY.
