We regret to announce the unexpected passing of David Paul Kiddie on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Bessie Kiddie. He will be forever remembered and loved by his wife Toni; son Jeffrey (Tricia), daughter Leslie Bartlett (Brian), and five grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin, Gabrielle, Morgan and Delaney.
David was born in Flint, Michigan to Bessie and Paul Kiddie. As a teenager, he moved to Shaker Heights, Ohio where he graduated from high school. He then attended Ohio University and played on the golf team. In the summer of 1967, Dave became an assistant golf professional at Locust Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY. It was there that he met Toni. They were married in 1968 in Ohio, where Dave served as an assistant golf professional for two more years. His next golf-related career was as a sales representative for several golf apparel companies covering much of New York state. Dave left the golf industry in 1991 and became a financial planner, eventually establishing his own practice, where he remained until retirement.
Dave’s interests included following the Cleveland Browns, golf, cooking for his family and friends, and traveling internationally. He and Toni explored Spain, Germany, Croatia, and France together. Anyone who knew Dave knew that he did not particularly enjoy winter weather, which made recent trips to Florida during the dreariest Rochester months a priority. For over fifteen years, David volunteered in the Victor Intermediate School as a subject expert for an enrichment program called the Stock Market Game. He was very proud of Jeff and Leslie and their accomplishments and life choices. Time with them and his grandchildren was precious and never enough.
Please consider contributions in memory of David to Lollypop Farm or Victor Farmington Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Toni, Jeff and Leslie,
I am so very sorry to hear about Dave. It is a sad day for all that knew him.
Sending you prayers and hugs.
Toni and family,
I’m so sorry you have lost David much too soon and so unexpectedly. I enjoyed reading his life story on this site, and was interested to know he loved golf so much. As you know, my husband died in 2022, also very unexpectedly, and he also was an avid golfer, always aiming to shoot his age! If I can be of help or support in any was, please let me.
