James Edward Miller
Canadice, NY
Loving husband of Corrine (Damon)
On 4/15/21 at 68 years young, his spirit walked on as the sun dipped below the western horizon. Every path beneath the pine trees, every pebbled stony shore, every glimmer of sunshine off the waters of the lake will hold the memory of your bright eyes, your smiling face, your playfulness, your laughter, your strength. Jim you won my heart and I will cherish the memories of us making music, holding hands, dancing in the campfire light. Until we meet again, my champion, my hero.
In lieu of flowers bring a song or story to share.
A celebratory Hootenanny will be held on 5/15/21 at 2pm at the family home.
Jim you will be missed I’ll keep you in my thought

Jim and I first met in the summer of 1976 (Bicentennial for the USA). We were hired as counselors at the 4-H Camp (Camp Bristol). Jim was in charge of the Ecology Department instructing campers all about the wonders of nature. They could not have selected a better person for the job. Staff members learned from Jim about the great outdoors right along with the campers. I know I did.
Jim & I loved our times at camp and remained in touch over the years. Jim was an expert with a canoe and loved to be out in one on the water. I had the pleasure of going out on Canandaigua Lake with him in his canoe where he kindly put up with my meager canoeing abilities. Jim told me once that he had arrived back home from someplace one Christmas Eve. He thought it was a beautiful star filled sky evening and decided to go out in his canoe. He told me that it was one of the best times he ever had out on the lake.
I remember dropping in to see Jim over the years at the family cottage on Seneca Point Road, the family home on West Lake Road, and Jim’s campsite in the woods behind Miller’s Nurseries. The last time I saw I got together with Jim was at Liberty Stables in Bloomfield for a terrific trail ride.
I always thought that if Jim could have been dropped off in the eras of Daniel Boone or Davy Crockett he would have been tickled pink.
God speed Jim, and God bless Corrine and all your loved ones.
Jim and I grew up one mine from each other, hiking dirt biking, and many hours together. Jim was a gentle soul I am so sorry that I didn’t connect later on in life.
I will always remember rappelling in Seneca Point gully and nights at The Cedar House……
