Michael R. Rice – born April 18, 1950, died January 10, 2021 at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents Dick H. and Wilma (Peet) Rice. He is survived by his sisters, Beverly (William) McElheny, Rochester; Debra (William) Trometer, North Carolina; and his brother Mark (Theresa) Rice, Rochester. Mike loved spending time with family. He was beloved by 6 nieces and 1 nephew and their sweet families; we have many wonderful memories. He also is survived by an aunt, Audrey (Albert) Smith, Perry; and many cousins. Mike graduated from Oakfield Alabama High School, NY and Genesee Community College, and he retired from Tops and the UFCW after 42 years. He was a forever Buffalo Bills fan and diehard racing fan – Nascar and Indy, and particularly liked following local drivers.

He had over a thousand die cast race cars, of all sizes, and a library of books and magazines from Lancaster Speedway to the Indianapolis 500. He gave much of his collection to his great nieces and nephews. For over four years he lived at Grandeville Assisted Living, and near the end, was at RGH, and under hospice care at Unity Living Center. We thank everyone who treated him with kindness and took good care of him. Burial will be private. A graveside memorial will be held in the late spring. Memorials may be made to the Grandeville Senior Living Community, the American Diabetes Association, or Lollipop Farm.
