Donald G. Merrick, 92, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024 with family by his side. He was married in May 1955 to his loving wife Sally Ellsworth. He was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War and received the Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal and Korean Service Medal. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards and especially spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his wife Sally, sister Loretta Paul, children Debra (Ed) Hurst, Denise (Mike Carey) Brown, Donald (Hylene) Merrick, Diane (Scott) Arnold, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother, Mary Merrick, brothers James, Raymond, Robert, Richard and grandson Clayton Brown.
A graveside service will be held on April 24, 2024 at 11:00 am at Boughton Hill Cemetery in Victor, NY followed by a celebration of his life at his son’s house in Hemlock, NY.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
