Saul “Mike” Hernandez, [72], of Newark, New York, reunited with his late Sweetheart Connie Hernandez at 2:00 AM October 13, 2023.

Mike is survived by his five sons Mike Lewis, Saul Hernandez, Chris Hernandez, Eric Hernandez, and Sean Hernandez, as well as 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his two sisters Claudia Halloran of South Carolina and Vonnie Burrell of Missouri and many nieces,  nephews and cousins. Mike was predeceased by his beautiful wife Connie Hernandez,

Mike, who was most fondly known as Grandpa, by his many beloved grandchildren, as they sat in his lap, he was always there to gently rock them to sleep.  He truly loved animals, even the most questionable animal was cute and cuddly in his eyes, and animals too found him to be kind and gentle.  He was the happiest when he was relaxing on the couch with the love of his life, his late wife Connie Hernandez. We can find solace in the thought that Dad is now dancing in Heaven once again with his beautiful bride.

His biggest legacy was his family, he and Mom raised their sons to be proud strong men and to value family above all else.  Mike was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather whose infectious smile and humor will forever be missed.

Burial will be Saturday October 28th 11:30 a.m. at St Patrick’s Cemetery 221 High Street, Victor, NY.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Calvary Church 835 Peirson Avenue, Newark.

Reception will be immediately following from 2p.m.-4p.m.
