On Wednesday May 10th Michael G. Barry went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord. He was a devout Christian who put his faith first in life.
Mike loved hunting, singing, playing guitar, making/building wood items, and most importantly spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Mike didn’t know a stranger. He was so friendly and loved to talk and would brighten your day with just one silly sentence. Family, fellowship, and hunting were the biggest parts of his life. He would give anyone the shirt off his back even if it was the last one he had. He was also known for being overly generous giving rides to anyone even if it was out of his way or would make him late.
He was the most amazing dad, pawpaw, son, brother, uncle, and friend, any of us could have asked for.
He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Jacob & Chelsea Barry, daughter & son-in-law Amber & Nick Smith, & his son Sean Barry. His 8 grandchildren Emma, Alana, Levi, Roscoe, Finley, Freya, Kitana and baby girl on the way. His father Robert “Bob” Barry. His 7 siblings Luann & Tom Wood, Trish Barry, Kathy & Peter Dewispelear, Debbie & Todd Henderson, Chris & Careen Barry, Dan Barry, & Ann Barry. Several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, & very good friends.
He was predeceased by his mom Alice Barry, his brother Kevin Barry, & his grandson Joseph Ruthven III.
Calling hours will be held Friday May 19th 4 – 7 p.m. at Jarmusz Cotton Funeral Home (26 Maple Ave. Victor, NY). Michael’s Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday May 20th 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery (Victor, NY).

Just heard of Mike’s passing. Sorry for your loss. I remember one time when helping to pass out dinner, Mike looked at me and said, ‘Someday you’re going to make someone a really good…Mom!!!! Not quite what I was expecting, but to this day, one of the nicest compliments I’ve ever received…! Love to you all, Pwaula
