Kenneth Raymond Waters passed away peacefully at Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua New York on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022 at age 81.
He was born on December 4, 1940 to Mary Wahneta Blackwell Waters and Raymond Charles Waters of Endwell, New York. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Gillis Waters, brother James (Karen) Waters, sister-in-laws Pat Waters and Roxanne Waters, stepdaughter, Leslie (Robert) Graham, granddaughter Kelsey Van Aken, grandsons David and Stephen Graham, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers Lynn Waters, Michael Waters and sister Patricia (Richard) DeCerbo.
Ken had a love of cooking. He graduated from Paul Smith’s College with a degree in culinary management. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1959-1961 as a cook. He worked at Kodak, managing cafeterias for several years and upon retirement, he opened his own restaurant.
Ken loved bluebirds, and made it a passion of his to keep bluebirds in New York, as they were going extinct. He worked at the Mary Frances Bluebird Haven in Victor, New York, and was a ranger there to protect the bluebirds’ habitats.
Private Memorial Service to be held at South Perinton Methodist Church. Interment at South Perinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victor Farmington Ambulance: 1321 East Victor Road, Victor, NY 14564.
The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers and friends who have provided him with support and kindness.
