On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Jeanne C. Barry passed away peacefully after a long illness. She was eighty-three.
Known for her quick wit and strong determination, Jeanne was a graduate of Geneseo State College. She taught English in the Victor, NY school system for several years. Later in her career Jeanne became a real estate broker and then a social worker aiding both children and adults. Jeanne enjoyed lifelong learning, reading, outdoor activities such as camping and snowmobiling, and social gatherings with friends and family.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Cindy Barry; brothers, Tom (Mimi) Cragg and Alan Cragg; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dear friend and mentor, Helen Miller. Jeanne is predeceased by her beloved husband, John (Jack) Barry; brother, Richard Cragg; sister, Virginia (Cragg) Brickler; and parents, William and Esther Cragg.
The family would like to thank the skilled nursing team at Dulles Health and Rehab of Herndon, Virginia, who took such good care of Jeanne during the past 18-months.
Calling hours will be Sunday, October 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Jarmusz-Cotton Funeral Home in Victor, NY. Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Victor. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery immediately following mass. Monday’s funeral mass will be live streamed (beginning at 9:45am) for family and friends who are not able to attend in person. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jeanne introduced a group of us to alternative health experiences, and, because I am a natural skeptic of all things alternative, I don’t remember them..
Her home was always warmed by the warmth of conversations, and wine..
I wish you, Jeanne, a peaceful ‘home going’..
