Lorraine J. Green
Victor,NY
Adored wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was relieved of her cancer burden with her family and close friends at her side on September 14, 2022 at the age of 46.
Lorraine was born February 5, 1976 to Gordon “Joe“ and Gladys Houghtaling. She graduated from Clyde Savannah High School in 1994 and attended both D’Youville College and Keuka College before graduating from Wayne Finger Lakes Boces with her degree in nursing. Lorraine worked several nursing jobs over the years with her forever favorite job being at Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Green, for whom she would eventually marry on June 9, 2007. Lorraine and Bob were blessed with three children: Robbie, Cecelia “Cece”, and Joseph “Joey“. Her children were the most important parts of her life and everything she has done she’s done for them.
Lorraine was an extremely competent and devoted nurse. She loved her career and the impact she was able to have on all that she had the pleasure of caring for. She took great pleasure in providing comfort and support to whomever needed it and did so in such a compassionate way. Along with being a nurse she was a devoted volunteer to many organizations and causes and was often the first to offer her assistance to someone in need. Lorraine would open her home to those without a place to go on the holidays, organized drives for whoever was in crisis, and looked forward to serving the less fortunate holiday meals. If someone had a need, no matter how big or how small, Lorraine was always the first to offer help. Serving others brought her such joy as did all the people she met along the way. Lorraine also established her own co-op so that she could homeschool her children and provide them with many opportunities to learn and thrive with other children in the homeschool network. Being able to homeschool her children and have that time with them meant the world to her
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Green; Her children: Robbie, Cece, and Joey; Her mother, Gladys Houghtaling; brother James (Kathleen) Houghtaling; sister Julie (Preston) Houghtaling Bennett; nephews: Drew Houghtaling, Christopher Houghtaling, and Colin Houghtaling; nieces: Emily Houghtaling and Olivia Houghtaling; mother in law, Esther Green; very special friends: Bethany Gushue, Toni McCulloch, Traci Hefti, Kim Wolverton, and Katie Martin along with countless other great friends; a very special cousin, Renee Peltz, and several other wonderful cousins, aunts, and uncle.
