Thomas William Stetler Jr. passed away peacefully on 01/16/22 with family by his side. Tom is survived by his daughter, Sonia (Brian) Nau, son Justin (Angela) Stetler, his grandchildren Dylan “big guy” and Kirsten “princess”, his dear friends who were more like family Donna (Ray) Sadler, his sister Sharon (Jerry) Becker, brother Robert (Barb) Stetler, sister Lynn (Terry) Day, brother-in laws Glenn (Vicki) Hatfield and Edward (Sharon) Hatfield, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Giovanna Stetler, his wife Diane Gehringer, his (step)-children Matt and Kristen Gehringer.
In 2018 Tom suffered an aneurism while driving- causing an accident. He beat the odds making it through the aneurism and needed to learn to breath on his own, walk, talk, and eat again. He was very determined and 1 year to the day of his accident he relocated from North Wales PA back to Rochester NY to be closer to family.
He was a resident of St. John’s home where he enjoyed putting on his “comedy act” for all the nurses and residents. If you knew Tom, you know he was rarely serious so you can imagine his “show” and the smiles he put on everyone’s face. He was one of the younger residents there and he enjoyed keeping the nurses on their toes. The family would like to express thanks to St. John’s for caring for him the last 2 plus years.
Friends and relatives may join the family Friday January 28th at 5:00pm for a memorial service at Jarmusz Cotton Funeral home (26 Maple Avenue Victor NY). Family will greet guests following service until 7:00pm. Interment White Marsh Memorial Park (Ambler,PA).In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital or to a charity of choice.
We are so sorry for your loss. We were so fortunate to have known Tom as a friend and as family. We will always remember his humor, laugh, and smile. Tom will truly be missed and our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Terri and Dave Grifa
