Barbara Ann Wheeler passed away at her home on January 31st at the age of 71. She was born on August 25th, 1949 in Canandaigua, NY to Arthur and Elizabeth Pembroke. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Marty, brother Robert (Kathy) Pembroke and her sister Marjory (Edmund) Ritter.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Colburn), her son Scott Wheeler and her grandchildren Hadley and Sawyer (Amy) and Kylie and Lilly (Scott.) She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her many wonderful friends.
Barb was an exceptional quilter, crafter and master knitter. She enjoyed volunteering in garden clubs and many community organizations. She cherished the Finger Lakes region, it’s wineries, boutiques, shops and restaurants. Barb absolutely loved to spend summer and fall weeks on Keuka Lake. Day trips around the Finger Lakes with her husband Marty filled their home with countless treasures and memories.
Her favorite activity was being “Oma” to her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than seeing her grandchildren walk in the door for a visit. She will be missed and remembered fondly for her wit, nurturing and compassion.
Services and a celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in her name can be presented to Serenity House of Victor, NY.
