Victor, NY

Passed away peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House, Port Charlotte, FL on April 14, 2019 at age 91.

Survived by her beloved partner, George Howard Park, five children – Rebecca Jones, Randy Jones (Megan), Karen Tackett Rush (Ron), Cheryl Jones-Richter (Joel), Sidney Jones (Maureen McCarthy), as well as eleven grandchildren – Ben Shulman, Cara Arena, Georgia Jones, Eleanor Jones, Lyndon Tackett, Madalyn Tackett, Erica Carnrite, Melissa Richter, Arianne Richter, Weston Jones and Declan Jones – and five great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mildred Garber, and her husband James L. Jones.

Gloria was born January 18, 1928 in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from Richmond Professional Institute. She was a commercial artist prior to her long-term career as an art teacher.  She taught for many years, including Victor Central School and Geneva West Street School.  She continued to love art after her retirement including calligraphy, watercolor painting, and stained glass work.  With her beloved Howard, she also enjoyed travel, golf, dancing, and walking

For the past 25 years, Gloria split her time between her homes in Victor, NY and Port Charlotte, Fl.   Previously she was active in the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) and Victor United Methodist Church (VUMC).  Donations may be made to OES, VUMC, Tidewell Hospice, or the charity of your choice.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 6th  at 11 a.m. at Victor United Methodist Church(106 E. Main St. Victor, NY). Interment will be private.
