Sponable, Zilpha

Zilpha J Sponable, age 63, passed away suddenly in her sleep on Saturday, November 24th, 2018.  Zilpha will be lovingly remembered for her kind-hearted and caring nature by her children Everien Malone (Brad), Shawna Schmidt (Justin), and Kyle Lombardo as well as her sisters Suzanne Buttaro and Linda Young.  She will also be fondly missed by her three grandchildren, Erin, P.J. and Connor, her niece Kim Ayash and Kim’s two children, Brendan and Bethany. Zilpha is predeceased by her cherished mother, Arlene Bliss.


Zilpha’s beloved friends and family will remember her for her uplifting and fun-loving personality, as well as her love of warm weather, water and beaches.  In recent years, Zilpha enjoyed how Facebook allowed her to rekindle friendships with many important people from all walks of her life as well as introducing her to the concept of a selfie which quickly became her favorite type of picture to take. She loved reminiscing and sharing stories of adventure and fun. In  recent years, the Hope Church family has embraced her and filled her days with joy and camaraderie.


Visitation will be held Monday, December 3rd, from 4-6 p.m. at Jarmusz Cotton Funeral Home (26 Maple Ave. Victor, NY). Zilpha’s memorial service will be celebrated Tuesday, December 4th, 10 a.m. at White Haven Memorial Park.

  7. I met Zilpha when Herb was sick towards the end. She loved him, and took great care of him. After Herb, she started coming to church, and sat with me always. We’ll be praying for God’s comfort for you all, and rejoicing that I was lucky enough to get to know her. xo
