Gloria (Lamb) Hitchcock, 66

May 23, 1952 – July 29, 2018

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Friend

Ended her journey on July 29th with her family at her side.  She will forever be in our hearts.

Predeceased by her parents Earl Lamb and Elizabeth (Shupe) Smith

Survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, George Hitchcock, daughter Ann and her husband Jon, son Jeremy and his wife Lisa, beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Ian, Chloe and her sister Lisa.

Known for her ease in conversation even with total strangers, she loved to connect with people and to help connect other people with each other.  She paired strength and determination with grace in her battle with Cancer and kept her focus on making memories with her family and friends.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held Sunday, August 5th at 1 PM at the First Congregational Church in Canandaigua.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to either Ontario-Yates Hospice or the American Cancer Society

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually, but including: Her Doctors, Nurses and Caregivers, the Hospice Nurses and volunteers, family, friends and neighbors through either prayers and/or visits, and even random acts of kindness from total “strangers”.
